Athletes of the Week – Week of Jan. 22

Every week, the Athletics department highlights some exceptional Hackley Hornets who are helping to spur on their teams.

Girls’ Swimming: Kate Masters ’27

The girls’ swim team improved to 5-0 last week after defeating Sacred Heart 48-46 and Riverdale 88-60. Kate led the team in points scored, winning all seven races in which she swam. Against Sacred Heart, Kate won the individual 500 free and was on the 200 and 400 freestyle relays. Against Riverdale, Kate won the individual 50 free and 500 free and was on the 200 and 400 freestyle relays.

Boys’ Basketball: Jack Perlman ’25

Jack averaged 20 points and five steals in his last two games, resulting in victories over Dalton and Riverdale. He has been instrumental to the team’s success this season.

Wrestling: Remy Becker ’25

Remy went 5-1 for the week with wins over White Plains, Eastchester, Lakeland Panas, Croton and Byram Hills. Remy had six takedowns and three pins. He also took 2nd place at the Westchester County Championships out of 27 teams on Saturday, Jan. 20.

Wrestling: Harper Kelsey ’24

Harper went 5-2 this week and placed 6th at the Westchester County Championships out of 27 teams. Harper was the 15th seed in the tournament.
